Summary: InOui is neither rolling stock nor an acronym. This new branding inOui, or TGV inOui, is the commercial brand for the French TGV service presented by SNCF on 27 May 2017 initially for certain services, then applied to all ‘classic’ TGVs from 2020. The SNCF was thereby embarking on a branding policy revolving around the onomatopoeic ‘Oui’ (Ouigo, OUI.sncf, Ouibus and therefore InOui), in order to distinguish it from the Ouigo, Lyria, Eurostar or Thalys brands. The inOui brand also puts an end to targeted commercial products such as ID-TGV or TGVMax. The former commercial site VoyagesSNCF.com has become ‘OUI.sncf’. The visual identity is what is known as an ambigram, which can be read both forwards and backwards via a central symmetry of 180 degrees. It applies to the entire SNCF TGV service and to high-speed rolling stock other than the brands mentioned above.
